Prego Update

can I just say that this pregnancy has FLOWN BY?!!
I can't believe that I am 35 weeks already.

It has been a relatively easy pregnancy. With almost NO morning sickness.
Hallelujah!
I have just been super tired ALL the time.
I feel like this baby has sucked all of my energy right out of me.
Some days are better than others. I can wake up, clean, run errands...but other days, I feel like doing nothing else but stay in bed all day. I mostly feel bad for Noa, because I don't get the chance to let him play outside very often. He is such a good boy. He has his moments...but most days he just plays really well by himself. He gives me hugs and kisses randomly all the time. :) And pokes/strokes my growing belly saying "baby!" I can't wait for him to have a playmate.

Now, for the long awaited "belly picture"...

At 35 weeks.

{excuse my crazy hair.}

Chad tells me I am carrying a lot higher this time. And I feel WIDER. eek!
....so maybe it's a girl...HAHA

For comparison...this is me at 34/35 weeks with Noa.
What do you think???

I think I look about the same...I know its kinda hard to tell with the different angles of the pictures.

24 weeks...and counting....

...counting DOWN for a very exciting event happening in our lives very soon!

You may be asking...so, what's the event??

I will tell you....

*

*

*

the event involves

*Noa becoming a big brother...
*Me, becoming a mother of TWO...
*Our family total = 4!  (wow)
*2 sets of diapers!! (ahh...)
*us = # of kids (not outnumbered yet!)
*2 car seats...*sigh*

so on, and so forth...

but we are SUPER excited!!!

cuz look how cute :D

BOY or GIRL...any guesses??
(we will find out in just a couple of weeks!!!)

I am about 16 weeks into my pregnancy [I can't believe how long I've gone without blogging about it!] and I am feeling great! - no morning sickness like last time (yipee!!), but feeling a lot more tired and fatigued ALL the time...which could have something to do with having a very active 1-year-old...haha
I am showing a lot more than last time...[some of you may have thought I was just getting fat...totally understandable! :D]  and this pregnancy has gone a lot FASTER! I am almost half way through already! It feels like just yesterday I found out that I was having another baby.

I am NOT nervous about the pregnancy...but VERY anxious about after giving birth...Not really sure how I feel about becoming a mommy to TWO little ones yet...I feel like I have my hands full with Noa already - how am I going to juggle a toddler and a newborn?!? [help! any advice??]
We wanted our kids to be around 2 years apart so its (almost) perfect!  The due date is April 30th 2011...so Noa and the baby will be at least 20 months apart

I am very grateful for the blessing of motherhood. I am thankful that we are being entrusted with another precious child of God, and look forward to the wonderful experiences and adventures of our growing family!!!

The Latest...

I am getting induced Wednesday - its official!...unless of course he decides to hurry things up a little before 7:30 that night, but either way I am so excited! I found out at the appointment earlier today that the baby is healthy and I have been having "contractions" pretty regularly and consistently every 5-8 minutes...who knew?! I dont think that they are the strong ones that are during labor, but she said theyre contractions! and I am also dilated to 1 cm!!!! I couldnt believe it! He's definitely getting ready to come out...I just hope Im not rushing him too much getting induced...I cant wait to see him FINALLY after 40 WEEKS of pregnancy - and all the nonstop kicks and wiggles keeping me up every night!

This past weekend we were able to attend Chad's home ward stake conference. Their stake presidency was getting reorganized and the Stake President who had the biggest influence on Chad serving a mission got released. I got to know him over the years as well throughout our engagement and marriage. He is a great person and did a wonderful job as the Stake President for the past 9 1/2 years! The meeting was so emotional and spiritually uplifting, to say the least. We fully support the newly-called Presidency and know that they will do a great job.

My latest projects has been a diaper bag and a baby sling. I finished the bag over the weekend and finally the sling today!

This is the inside - so many pockets - so much fun :D ...and its actually pretty big inside!
And lastly...I love buttons!
I will put pictures up of the sling when I use it with my baby...it just looks like a boring piece of fabric without the baby in it...

Good News/Bad News

Good News
My mom is in town! She got here from Michigan on Wednesday, and was able to come to the Thursday appointment with me and Chad.

Bad News
At the Thursday appointment, the doctor told me that the baby still doesnt seem like he wants to come out...he's stubborn, just like another man in my life :)

Good News
We finally got a stroller and car seat for the baby!! After searching from store to store we located the perfect one, well close enough to perfect...

Its a Graco Cleo - smooth riding and compact, easy to use - The best part is we got it for fraction of the price! (normally goes for $470 but got it for $250!!!!!) we were so excited, Chad couldnt wait to install the car seat in our car and play with the stroller!

I dont think I have any more bad news...just good news
>On Monday we'll find out if I can get induced next week - and we'll be totally ready for him!
>My mom and I have come up with sewing projects to keep us busy for the time being - a baby sling and a diaper bag :D
>My sister comes in on Tuesday!
>Ive been enjoying my HOT summer in Vegas and so has Chad

We are ALL so anxious and excited for the big day, Ill keep updating on the baby status as i find out more info!

2 weeks...what?!?

while looking at the calender, I realized that EXACTLY 2 weeks from today is the baby's due date! Any day now I can have the baby!! WOW...kinda scary...BUT I know that everything is going to be okay because I have such a great support system, especially with Chad back now. I will have my mom coming next week, and my sister joining us a week after that...its going to be a huge party!! I really cant put into words how I feel right now about being so close to having a baby and becoming a mommy, but I do know that when my little baby gets here, I am going to do whatever I can for him to grow up healthy, strong and happy. I already feel such a strong connection with him and that connection is only going to get stronger from here. I already can feel that life is never going to be the same after this! - in a good way :D

PS: chad has waaaay too much fun with my prego belly

My New Boppy

I've been debating on whether I should get a nursing pillow for a long time now, and I finally decided to just do it...so...I went to Target and purchased my very own Boppy! and I love it! I really hope that I can say the same after I use it with my baby...but for now, I love it. And the best part is it came with a little tee for my little one! I was so excited :D and it totally made my doubts about the whole purchase go out the window!

Instead of spending an extra $10-15 for their adorable, yet pricey covers, I decided to purchase a "bare naked" pillow...(yes, that is its actual name)...and make a cover for it myself with the remaining fabric I had. It actually ended up working out pretty nicely... this should give you an idea of how much time Ive had on my hands lately --- I started on my boppy pillow case around 3 or 4 yesterday, and it was completely finished that evening...it looks simple enough but I did have to do alot of tweaking with the pattern to make it perfect

and this is the back...Im so proud of myself for improvising the zipper part! I didnt really know how I was going to do it, but it turned out great!

I do feel that it needs something extra though...maybe ill do some patch work or put an applique on the front side of it...we'll see.

Prego update - 37 WEEKS!!

I just had my 37-week appointment yesterday. We got lucky and got another ultrasound! This one wasnt as fun as the 20wk ultrasound because the baby is so big now and he's in his final head-down position. We didnt get any good pictures for that reason BUT they were able to tell me that the baby is growing according to whats considered "normal" and that he is APPROXIMATELY 6 1/2 pounds!!! Thats almost how much I weighed when I was BORN! The doctor said that he'll probably grow another 100+grams each week from now till he's born. I was VERY excited to hear that everything looked normal and the baby is healthy and growing because MY overall weight hasnt been going up too much the last few weeks and everyone that hears how far along I am freaks out at how SMALL I am! It was just reassuring to say the least...

Ill keep updating my baby-status so stay tuned!

Baby Projects!

With all my spare time that I've had plenty of lately, my favorite thing to do has been SEWING! My concentration - Baby Items! So far I have made a receiving blanket and a nursing cover. and it has been so much fun! Not only does it help me to take my mind off of things...like my hubby not being here...but I feel very productive and not so LAZY like I used to feel...I can't wait to use them when my little guy gets here!!

This is the nursing cover that I made...I got the idea here but made a few changes myself like...instead of using heavy home decor fabric, I used light cotton fabric but lined the inside so that it would hold its shape better...and I also added a pocket and some cute buttons (that serves no other purpose...) Oh!...and I made it a little shorter, cuz well, as you all know Im not a very lengthy person... :D

My second project is this cute receiving blanket...

I also got the idea from the same creative person here...making my own changes with this one too. I didnt use rick rack (the squiggly stuff around the edges) and I added more than just one applique...those were the funnest to do!

This is the reverse side...

Now, on to my next project! - a Boppy pillow cover! :D ..Ill post pictures when I finish it

Less than a month to go!

It's been 4 days since moving into Chad's parent's house here in Vegas - by myself, might I add...but it has been great. They have cleared up two bedrooms for us so that the baby can have his own room when he comes in August...it was so nice of them! Since moving here, I've been trying to get ready for the baby the best that I can and prepare myself mentally physically and emotionally for that big day ahead. Im now 36 weeks along and all my doctor's appointments from here on are only a week apart.

I am reading alot and learning alot more about the delivery day and how to adjust to being a new parent. It is a definitely scary to think about, but so exciting at the same time!

I recommend this book to all pregnant women and their husbands - or even those that are just thinking about getting pregnant ;) I was lucky to be given this book by my first doctor because I dont know that I would have gotten it for myself if I wasn't...it is seriously a great book!

Well, here I am bigger than ever, but loving every minute of it!! His movements are getting stronger and bigger as the days go by...some of those little kicks really hurt! Thinking about how our little one is growing and how much closer it's getting to that big day, makes me so happy and so excited!
